Again, just covering some issues with regards to keys. We were talking earlier about the different types of keys on a different video (Found here), but we have literally 1000's of different types of keys, we're just going to cover the different types of vehicle keys and how we would go about copying and programming them. That's the bigger thing today is that keys actually have electronic chips in them that are going to communicate with your vehicle and if not dealt with properly they will not work. You can't just take a standard key and put it in the ignition and have it work, it has to be programmed properly.

This is one of our units that we use for programming the vehicles themselves, we have different kinds of devices that plug into your vehicle that cover a very wide range of vehicles. Then we have a unit here that will determine if that key has a chip in it or not, we can usually tell just by looking at the key but we'll insert that key into the unit and it's going to give us some readings, then our technician is going to scan through a couple items and be able to tell what type of system it is on so we can program it appropriately and grab the right key to copy.

Now we're going to move over to the laser cutter which is used for Sidewinder keys. This is a very high-tech item, you need this specific machine to cut the sidewinder keys for newer vehicles. They come in a different variety of patterns that need to be traced to get the code off the key to make a duplicate. Not only do we need to have the inventory for the keys themselves but we need to have the technology to cut and then program those keys and have the technicians with the ability to do that work on a regular basis so that it becomes routine and they manage to get these things done quickly and efficiently at the counter for you.

This is just a quick example of some of the common keys you will see now for vehicles. They were very unusual to see at one time but they've become more common. We have the Fobic key which is this guy over here and doesn't have a blade on it, often they will have a blade secondary to get into the door that fits into the backside these also have a remote built into them. This has got a remote on the head to open up your locks and this one here has a remote as well, this is what I call a switchblade as it folds in. So we can do these keys for a huge variety of vehicles. they're all a little bit different even though they look the same, they're not they're all different in their programming and that's what gives us security in the key system.
