About Lock Surgeon Edmonton South
Always Mobile - Locksmith, Door repair, Door & Window Security
A story of meeting customer's needs and investing in our company's growth
Celebrating over 35 years of service in Edmonton and area. In 1989, Pat built his first company mobile service van cabinets in the basement and assembled the van's inventory, tools and signage in the driveway of his house. A few years later, 2 more mobile locksmith and door repair vans were built and Pat opened his first 700 square foot locksmith and door repair sales and service centre in Mayfield Square. By 1997, the fleet grew to 5 mobile locksmith and door repair service trucks and the locksmith shop expanded to a 1900 square foot space. With an ever growing customer base and service area, it wasn't long before the fleet included 10 mobile service trucks and a staff of 15, which meant it was time to grow again.
In 2008, Lock Surgeon invested in and moved into their own 8000 square foot combined locksmith, door repair and warehouse building at 17812 - 118 Ave with an even larger variety of quality products and professional service offerings. In 2017, Lock Surgeon grew again due to customer demand and added a second locksmith and door repair service centre location in Edmonton at 5738 75 St. NW. Calgary clients also requested locksmith service and five more mobile locksmith company trucks were added to the fleet, servicing Calgary and area.
Lock Surgeon provides always mobile service, we are where you are.
Our Philosophy
Since 1989, we have successfully raised the standards of quality, value, and dependability in our industry. Today, with the same promise of individual attention and great value for all our customers, we remain committed to offering products and services that raise those standards even higher.
The Lock Surgeon company is constantly reinvesting in our operations and encourages all mobile service technicians and in-shop repair service providers to continuously upgrade their abilities. This is done through extensive corporate training, encouraging technicians to register for the three year locksmith apprenticeship program and assisting with additional distance learning opportunities in access control, automatic door repair, garage door repair and safe opening and repair.
All new team members are required to obtain a police security clearance, complete a review of corporate policies and procedures and mobile and shop service providers must complete an extensive series of safety programs. This investment in training, clear policy directives and safety by both the company and our staff can be time consuming and somewhat expensive but is part of our commitment to deliver consistant superior, professional service on a large variety of product and repair services to meet our customer's expectations.
Safety, is of course, a concern in all service environments. Our mobile and in-shop service providers receive a number of safety instructions and videos. Our mobile installation and repair service providers receive additional extensive safety training and complete the POST (Petroleum Oriented Safety Training) program.
Insurance is important. Policies and procedures and safety training go a long way to help maintain a safe work environment but it is important to have insurance that will cover costs of injury to people or damage to property should an unforeseen event occur. Lock Surgeon invests in and maintains $5,000,000.00 of liability insurance and $2,000,000.00 vehicle insurance coverage. Its important that customer's property is respected and that issues arising from property damage and personal injury are avoided. Lock Surgeon also maintains appropriate WCB (Workers Compensation Board) coverage and supports an Alberta Blue Cross Insurance policy for staff that opt-in for coverage.
Tools and equipment is a big part of providing professional service. Lock Surgeon has invested significantly to ensure mobile service trucks and shop service centres are equipped with a large variety of commonly used tools and specialty tools to meet our customer's repair and installation needs. The mobile service trucks have several thousand dollars of tools to meet the needs of jobs big or small, which include items such as: key machines, lock pinning supplies, skill-saws, jig-saws, door adjusment products and a large variety of small hand tools. Lock Surgeon's in-store service counter shop areas have the best in today's key cutting and key generating machines, automotive key cutting and key fob programming computer systems as well as a significant amount of hand tools so as to ensure customer's key cutting, remote programming, lock and door repair needs are met.
All Lock Surgeon Vans and on-site service vehicles are generally newer, well maintained and bear the logo of the company for easy identification. Vans are painted yellow, insulated to assist in providing winter warmth for technicians and all service trucks are stocked with commonly used inventory items to meet typical on-site repairs and/or hardware repair needs. Lock Surgeon makes an ongoing investment in vehicle maintenance that at times can be expensive. There is often a need to replace windshields, repair brakes, ensure fluid levels are maintained and tires are replaced.
Lock Surgeon has invested significantly in mobile tablets, cellphones, point of sale terminals, inventory programs and GPS technology that enable our technicians to provide accurate on-site quotes, check inventory levels, receive electronic payment, provide emailed receipts, communicate clearly and quickly with the call centre dispatch department and receive technical assistance from team leaders when faced with unusual or difficult on-site lock or door repair challenges.
Having been an industry leader for over 35 years, Lock Surgeon has developed the ability to provide a wide range of service offerings that include but not limited to: key cutting, remote programming, door and hardware repair and installation for home or commercial applications, weatherstripping, patio door repair of handles and rollers. Screen door installation and repair, window bars for home or commercial application, superior padlock inventory selection, safe opening and sales. Automatic door repair, door hinge and hardware repair, door closer adjustment and replacement, garage door hardware including springs, rollers, cables and hinges repair and replacement. Truck cargo rollup door repair, roll shutter adjustment, repair and replacement. Each mobile team member is trained to meet a number of service and repair challenges. In-store shop service centre technicians are also trained to assist with a large variety of hardware repair or replacement issues.
Our call centre and dispatchers are able to coordinate emergency service when key, lock or door repair or service is needed and can also provide convenient appointment times that will meet your availability schedule to perform repair, maintenance or replacement needs. Our service vans are equipped with cellular phone communication and GPS tracking devices that allow dispatchers to know the exact location of each service provider throughout the day. Customer's are generally given a 4 hour window that the technician will arrive and are also sent a text and email 20 to 30 minutes before the technician arrives on-site, allowing the customer to be well aware and prepared of the technicians imminent arrival.
Quality Products are stocked in our service trucks and sales and service centres.
