Introduction to Lock Surgeon

For over 30 years Lock Surgeon has been offering retail, industrial, and commercial security solutions for the Alberta market. We have three locations, two in Edmonton and one in Calgary. Lock Surgeon has built a solid reputation for reliable and professional products and second-to-none service by a team of caring hard working, and dedicated long term employees.

Locksmith Apprentice:

Lock Surgeon's locksmith team is trained in a wide variety of product and service solutions as there is no one service that can provide sufficient income support throughout four seasons.

You will require and recieve extensive corporate training in areas such as:
Key copying, key creation, lock repair and rekeying, door closer and door opener service, door security hardware, panic bars, electric locks, access control systems, safes, window bars and window security, door repair and installation, window hardware and patio door repair and possibly some garage door repair.

Past experience in any of the above listed areas or in building, construction or building maintenance will be an asset.

This trade requires the ability to learn from senior staff, follow procedures, be organized, communicate well, present solutions to customers and commit to continued learning in this evolving industry.

This trade requires a three-year commitment to the Alberta Locksmith Apprenticeship course.

You must have a Class-5 drivers license, a vehicle, full english language skills, strong communication skills AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.

Locksmith Experienced:

Lock Surgeon's locksmith team is trained in a wide variety of product and service solutions as there is no one service that can provide sufficient income support throughout four seasons.

Past experience in any of the above listed areas or in building, construction or building maintenance will be an asset.

This trade requires a three-year commitment to the Alberta Locksmith Apprenticeship course.

Garage Door - Residential/Commercial - Repair & Installation Provider/Assistant:

This is a hands-on, garage door and door operator service position for mostly residential doors but also commercial overhead garage doors.

You will be provided with corporate training and work with a senior garage door technician on a variety of jobs until you can confidently work independently. Additional ongoing training and support will be provided.

There may be an opportunity to work in a related company division such as locksmithing and man-door repair.

All new staff will assist other staff on a variety of projects and assist in areas such as inventory, shop cleanup, product pricing & packaging and other areas as work allows.

When working independently you will be working directly with customers at which time you will determine and discuss options of product or service solutions

Past construction or property maintenance experience is an asset as is a schooling background in shop or woodwork.

You must have a Class-5 drivers license, independent vehicle to travel to corporate office, full english language skills, strong communication skills AND WILL BE REQUIRED TO UNDERGO A CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK.

Dispatcher/Job Coordinator:

This job will involve answering phones, documenting name, address and work required, organizing appropriate technician to respond to work, scheduling work within time and weather constraints and customer's needs.

Helping to coordinate appropriate team to respond to work required, and ensuring technicians have a good description of challenges and possibly additional product to complete work.

You will be responsible for signing out tools, documenting staff time start and end of day, documenting time-off requests, dealing with customer job site communication challenges or complaints.

This postition is best suited for someone with strong organizational and leadership qualities to work and assist in a well organized corporate structure.

Past experience in construction renovation, garage door or man door repair work an assest.

Must have:

Full English language skills.
Positive communication attitude.
Ability to organize daily & weekly work schedules.
Ability to coordinate service levels while providing appropriate & timely response levels.
Ability to cooperate, organize & communicate with department coworkers & mobile service technicians.
Deal with customer challenges & provide positive conflict resolution.
This can be a fast pace postition.

Shop Assistant/Warehouse Help:

Assist in a variety of service areas as a helper in shipping receiving door repair, security upgrades and window laminate installations.

Work will include maintenance of lawns, cleaning and organizing warehouse and assisting other technicians as required.

Past experience in construction, building maintenance, landscaping and shipping or receiving is an asset.

This position may lead to an opportunity for additional positions in Locksmithing, the garage door trade or Bee Cool Glass Coatings.

Work as a part of a team of three building and maintaining multiple webpages as well as a Shopify site for three separate brands within one corporation.

Must have:

A certificate in web page design or have significant past experience.
Strong sense of web design as it relates to sales.
Experience with SEO for Google.
Familiar with latest design tools and coding.
Familiar with website testing.
Work independently and problem solve.
Well organized.
Flexible.
The ability to listen and work for a common goal.
Graphic design background and experience a benefit.
Open to taking instruction and direction.
Strong communication skills.
